10 oz/280 grs Self Raising Flour.
8 fl oz/225 ml Milk.
5 oz/140 grs Caster Sugar.
2 oz/60 grs chopped walnuts.
1 beaten egg.
1 pinch of salt.
Grease a mixing bowl with butter, then pour in the egg, milk & sugar.
Sieve in the flour & salt. Mix well & stir in the walnuts.
Place in a greased loaf tin then leave to rise for 20 mins.
Bake at 170C/320F for 1 hour.
NB. You can tweak this loaf to taste by adding 1 teaspoon of hot chilli powder to taste and by substituting some or all of the walnuts for 4 sun-dried tomatoes and/or olives.
