Watercolours

The weekend is timed to take advantage of the atmosphere & subtleties of our Autumnal weather & landscapes, but well before the clocks go back. Hosted, as ever, by May Snaddon, this years break is planned to cover the art of drawing.

The importance to any artist of this basic skill is often underestimated. May will be focussing on helping you with your visualisation, perspective, composition, draughtsmanship and tone. Cezanne said "If you get your tone right, the colour doesn't matter". (He actually said it in French, of course.)

As ever though, the workshop is planned to be very relaxed, utilising every aspect of the stunning & varied landscapes around the house. With May's support you'll get a newfound confidence to move your techniques forwards. May will be looking to inspire you and support you to achieve even greater things with your work.

We will get underway on the Friday evening with an introductory session at 6.00pm, followed by supper at 7.30/8.00pm. There are the 2 sessions on Saturday and a formal session on Sunday morning, allowing you a timely departure just after lunch. May will be providing all the materials for the weekend so all you'll need to bring will be your easel, your stool, your beret, your smock and, of course, yourself.
